Within the scope of Erasmus Staff Teaching Mobility, we hosted Dr. İrfan Hosic from the University of Bihac, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dr.Hosic, who came to our university as the guest of the Erasmus Office, first met with the staff from Erasmus Office during his 5-day visit. Here, Dr.Hosic was hosted by Erasmus Institutional Coordinator Yahya Adanır and other lecturers at the Erasmus Office.
Later, he participated as a speaker in the seminar named "Bosnia and Herzegovina between East and West" which was organized jointly by the Department of History of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Islamic Sciences and the Erasmus Office. The seminar was first held on March 23, 2022 in Aziz Sancar Classrooms, and then on March 24, 2022, at the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences. Touching on the history of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the past to the present, Dr.Hosic discusses the main factors for Bosnians to accept Islam, the political, historical and cultural projections of the Ottoman Empire in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the definition of Islam as an identity in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Visiting the historical mosques in Muş on the last day of his visit, Dr.Hosic expressed his feelings for the close attention shown to him and expressed his thanks to the entire university community.
