Erasmus+ Staff Week Was Held Successfully

The Erasmus Staff Week was held successfully between 06-09 May 2018 at our university. The four-day event was attended by academics from different universities in Czech Republic, Poland and Portugal.

An introducing meeting was held on the first day of the activity, which started in the afternoon on May 06, 2018. In this meeting which was attended by academicians from abroad and Erasmus Office employees, presentations were made by foreign academicians to present their universities and presentations were made by Erasmus Office to present our university.

On the second day of the event, visits were made to the academic and administrative units of our university during the morning session. In these visits, which were held in the presence of our Erasmus Office employees, firstly classrooms were visited and short conversations were held with some academicians and students. After visiting the classrooms, the participants who visited the Congress and Cultural Center, the Library, the Dining Hall, the Sports Hall and the bazaar all expressed that they liked all the units in our complex. On the afternoon session of the program, the participants visited Murat Bridge, Castle Park and the city center and they had the opportunity to taste Muş regional dishes and to shop.

On the third day of the event, the participant attended teaching activities in the companion of Assist. Prof. Yılmaz MUTLU at the Department of Elementary Mathematics Teaching at the Faculty of Education and in the companion of Prof. Dr. Abdullah KIRAN at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. The foreign academicians participating in the lecturing activity gave information about their countries and universities as well as giving answers to the questions directed by our academicians and students. Following the completion of the teaching activities, the foreign scholars were accepted by Fethi Ahmet POLAT, the rector of our university. They provide information about themselves and their universities and they stated that they are ready for all kinds of cooperation. The academicians who expressed that they liked Mus Alparslan University very much in every direction stated that they are very satisfied with the program and especially liked the Muş dishes. They also conveyed thanks to the rector for the close interest and relevance shown to them. Our rector Prof.  Dr. Fethi Ahmet POLAT stated his pleasure for being visited by the foreign academicians and stated that they want to host more foreign academicians in the coming years and this will contribute to internationalization. The visit, which was held in a very friendly environment, ended after the gifts given by our rector.

On the last day of the event, on the 4th day, the participants met with Erasmus Office employees and exchanged ideas about cooperation. Exchange of personnel and student mobility protocol was signed with participants from Czech Republic and Poland. Erasmus+ Institutional Coordinator, Lect. Yahya ADANIR, who presented the participation certificates expressed the following about the program; "Since 2009 we have had ECHE (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education Institutions) and nearly 200 staff members have taken part in teaching and training activities in the past 9 years, while nearly 150 students have visited universities in different European countries as a part of learning and internship program. However, the number of staff and students coming to Muş Alparslan University from European universities is not enough. We decided to organize Erasmus+ Staff Week in order to introduce our university internationally and to catch international standards, to provide multiculturalism and to increase the number of incoming personnel and students. The program that we organized this year was attended by academicians from different universities in Czech Republic, Poland and Portugal. At the end of a very productive program we have signed bilateral student and staff exchange agreements. Participants were very satisfied with the program, and in the following years they promised that they would work as an ambassador to Muş Alparslan University for mobility. Next year we will be implementing the second of this program and I am sure that we will have a fuller program in which more participants will be involved. In the realization of this program, I want to express my gratitude for our rector, Prof. Dr. Fethi Ahmet POLAT and vice-rector Prof. Dr. İbrahim ERDOĞAN who did not spare their support from us. I also want to thank to Lect. Mahmut AKAR, who accompanied the participants for four days, to other lecturers from Erasmus+ Office, to the guesthouse staff who provided the participants with all kinds of support and to the academicians and students of our university”.
